Architects Plus were commissioned to provide an architectural solution that improved the main living accommodation and provided the occupants with an opportunity to connect with their external environment, including the restoration of the mill wheels.

As a listed building in a Conservation Area the planners were reluctant to permit any alteration to the main fabric of the existing mill building and so the answer to the brief proposed the insertion of a ‘River Room’ to the side of the property. The new structure cantilevers dramatically over the river wall providing stunning views across the river and back toward the original building.
