Wetheral, Cumbria

Architects Plus were appointed to work with the residents of Wetheral to assist in the design and development of a multi-purpose community hall serving the village and local area. The building contains a new multi-use function hall with associated changing facilities, nursery, meeting room, kitchen, and bar. Architects Plus were involved from the initial stages, meeting with the local community user group to develop a strategic brief.  The practice prepared the proposals and managed the client through the design development, detailed design and construction works, handing over the building to the community. The building proves to be a very popular and successful community facility.  The wide range of community organisations who use the building includes pre-school children, sports organisations, arts and music groups alongside other members of the public.
