Architects Plus have been approached by Beaumont Parish Hall Committee to develop a scheme that will replace their existing Parish Hall, following confirmation that the existing building was beyond economic repair. The new building will house a larger hall, more adaptable spaces with modern facilities designed to meet the growing and changing needs of the Parish. The building design has been undertaken in close collaboration with the Parish Hall Committee, with numerous design meetings to ensure that the committee’s brief is being met at every stage of the process.  The site is significant as the existing building sits on the edge of the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site that is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The materials, form and massing of the building have been developed to be sympathetic to their historic and natural surroundings. Ongoing collaboration with Historic England will continue throughout the detailed design and construction process to ensure that the Hadrian’s Wall site is protected as the building is implemented on site, whilst ensuring the design aims to complement the historically rich and visually beautiful setting.
