Albion Mills is a development comprising of a mix of two and three bed houses and flats designed specifically for the needs of residents with disabilities.

Located in the heart of Lancaster next to the Lancaster canal and now located in a predominantly residential area, the site was originally part of a larger complex of 19th century industrial buildings and lies on the edge of the Lancaster Conservation Area. Utilising the existing topography of the site the development achieved the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes, Lifetime Homes, Secured by Design and Wheelchair Design Standards. Successful consultation with the Local Authority and the neighbouring community resulted in a careful blend of vernacular materials combined with a contemporary design which satisfies the needs of the residents. Landscaping proposals were developed which enhance the local ecosystem of the canal and surrounding environment through the use of native tree and shrub planting, and the creation of new wildlife habitats.
