Caerlaverock, Dumfries & Galloway

The brief required the replacement of the existing Peter Scott hide which had stood at WWT Caerlaverock for the previous 42 years. The new all-purpose observatory and visitor centre clad unusually in British western red cedar, contains a split level interior with panoramic views of the wetlands. An observation tower served by a lift makes this an accessible viewing hide for all.
