Architects Plus worked closely with Akong Rinpoche and the Rokpa Trust to enable the realisation of their vision for the largest Tibetan Monastery in Western Europe.

The practice’s original commission on this site was to design an extension to the existing monastery that included residential and office accommodation. The practice went on to oversee the installation of a new reed bed drainage system for the entire site and the design and construction of a new decorative pagoda that marks the entrance to the main monastery building. The practice was involved over a period of six years to develop the designs and see through the construction of the new facilities from initial briefs.
