Carlisle, Cumbria

The proposals for Kingmoor Infant and Junior Schools were commissioned as part of the Transforming Learning Programme to increase the size to accommodate an increased demand for school places across Carlisle City.  The plans included two new classrooms at the infant school and a further two classrooms, a learning resource centre and five further rooms and stores for the juniors.

Extensive consultation established an appropriate design solution and this included a fully resolved transport scheme to address the concerns of local residents.  A number of public presentation events were held and the comments received helped inform the final plans.

The practice is now working on delivering a further classroom at the school as part of the development plan.
