The Sandra Fisher Centre, Eden Valley Hospice

Carlisle, Cumbria

The brief required an extension to the Eden Valley Hospice, providing palliative and respite care, as a result of “outgrowing” their existing building. The new facility provides designated accommodation for the existing Outpatients Clinic and Counselling Services as well as additional office space for Fund-Raising and Family Support services.

Following the success of The Sandra Fisher Centre, Architects Plus have subsequently been commissioned to design and build a new garage building for the Hospice’s fleet of vehicles; upgrade the building entrance; and convert a four bed ward into two ensuite patient rooms.  Our most recent involvement involves the designof some of the patient bedrooms and bathrooms each with an associated theme related to the four seasons of the year.
