Lazonby, Cumbria.

Architects Plus were commissioned by Bells of Lazonby to review the site of their established bakery products business and develop proposals for expansion.  The subsequent work included design and construction of an extension to their existing gluten free factory, a new a canteen building that included staff changing facilities and a new workshop building.

The site and existing buildings lie parallel to the Settle to Carlisle Railway.  Careful consideration was given to the positioning of the new buildings to ensure that they complemented the current operations of the site which, as a consequence, required significant consultation and negotiations with Network Rail to ensure the building works did not interfere with the safe operation of the adjacent railway line.
