Warwick Mill, Carlisle

Warwick Mill near Carlisle, Cumbria was originally constructed in 1791 as a wool textile mill and was in continuous use until dwindling export markets necessitated its closure in 1977. For the next twenty years the mill was used by a series of small businesses, before being purchased by Simtor Developments in 1997.

Architects Plus has worked with Simtor Developments on the sympathetic conversion of the mill to a business centre with over 50 suites of modern office accommodation. Development of the site has continued over the last twelve years, including the creation of workshop units from the existing bleaching sheds and alterations to the centre itself to provide additional conference and meeting facilities.

Warwick Mill Business Village and Architects Plus continue to work together to develop and improve this vital facility for the business communities of Carlisle and its surroundings. Currently over 150 individuals work at the site and enjoy the extensive facilities available, including an on site cafe and gym, thus helping to maintain a supportive commercial presence within the area.
